Combining Sport & Dating is a Good Idea?

There is no doubt. Nowadays, most couples would choose to book a ticket on a weekend to watch their favourite baseball game together. For some, this may just be the time of the year when they’d finally found time to spend a day watching a certain sporting event. For others, on the other hand, sports are essential parts that build their life. And so, spending a time with a loved one on a particular sporting event is the way to keep the love. If you will be asked, “Do sports and dating really go together?” Reading the entire article might help you answer that question.
A survey conducted by “It’s Just Lunch” (a match-making service for working professionals) reveals that these two indeed go together. The survey team asked more than 1,400 people in order to find out the role of sports in their relationship. Take a look at these interesting results:
Sports have negative impact
In the previous years, one of five people says that sports negatively impacted. That number, however, rose. This time, one of every three people (ages 18 to 24) agrees that sports indeed have a role in their relationship, but on a negative side. This data change to one out of ten when the respondents are those that belong to 55 to 64 age bracket. Women turned out to be more negative about the issue saying that it’s the amount of money and time spent on such activities that were not wise. For men, the issue was more about the bad mood caused by “crappy games”.
On the First Date
This is good news for certain sporting teams. 45% of the total respondents said that they prefer going to a sporting event on the first date. What’s more surprising with this is that 67% of women really wanted it. As a matter of fact, they were more enthusiastic than men.
Sports dating on a vacation
The answer to the above question even got clearer with the help of another survey result. People were asked what they would do if given an opportunity to travel on a vacation. Results say that 84% of people are willing to spend their vacation time to watching a certain sporting event together with their special someone. To make that more detailed: 53% said that they would be ok to go on a big sporting event rather than doing something else on a vacation. Furthermore, 31% (both men and women) enthusiastically responded even asking when they would leave and they’d pack their bags instantly.
